Solar Service Plans That Work For You

DesertClean Energy joins the growing number of Solar Businesses to offer Solar Service Plans for their Commercial and Residential Customers. But why chose us over others? It all comes down to experience with Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal, and Energy Storage systems. Much has changed in the industry just over the last 10 years. DCE’s technicians have been apart of and seen that dramatic change in technology and grown and learn throughout the last decade. The recent Walmart vs. Tesla Energy lawsuit made it apparent to the industry that a need for qualified maintenance exists. Currently, there is a hole in the market to handle the need for a sustained preventative and corrective maintenance program in order to support your significant investment. But we should first address some terminology, so you understand what’s out there right now.

Solar service agreements are typically paid on an annual basis and include preventive and reactive services aimed to optimize your solar system’s production and the safety of your solar system. In order to understand the value of a solar service plan, it is important to understand the limits of the a typical solar company’s workmanship warranty provided at initial installation and the manufacturer-backed product warranties.

LET’S TALK WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY:

DesertClean Energy, for every customer, provides what we believe is the industry’s leading quality workmanship. We work to apply a critical eye to every detail in the installation of any energy system or simple service call. Although not common, sometimes workmanship issues can arise. Some examples of these issues could be the loosening of conduit connectors within the first year of installation, insufficient support of conduit runs, stripping of wires, ground faults, damages to solar modules due to handling, etc. Once such issues have been identified, resolving such is the responsibility of DesertClean Energy under the standard workmanship warranty (a total of 6 years - 1 as required by the California State License Board and our own 5 year warranty). Other issues can evolve over time that cannot be considered workmanship issues. For example, compression couplings can become loose after several years due to exposure to the sun (temperature-related contraction and expansion), wind and minor earthquakes. Identifying such concerns and manufacturer defects is one integral part of an annual Solar Service Plan. It’s this annual inspection of your system that gives you the customer the confidence that your investment will last.

MANUFACTURERS WARRANTIES:

Equipment choices made at installation by DesertClean Energy are based upon many factors, including the credit rating of the manufacturer, the aesthetic appeal of the parts to the customer, availability, etc. Typically, products with industry leading warranties are chosen. These products have a track records of low quantity manufacturer defects and long term performance. However, should defects exist, the manufacturer’s labor reimbursement rates typically don’t cover the complete cost of site visits and troubleshooting, if at all. A DesertClean Energy Solar Service Plan will eliminate the costs related to such troubleshooting and replacement actions.
